How is CrossFit Bartlett different than other CrossFit gyms?
CrossFit Bartlett brings a number of strengths and advantages. For starters, we were one of the original CrossFit facilities to open in the Memphis area, and have been coaching and personal training for over 16 years.
We specialize in empowering people to be their best, and we specialize in building confidence, educating and helping you create a healthy lifestyle.

I’m not in very good shape/injured. Is CrossFit for me?
If you want to feel, look, and live better and are willing to put in the work, then yes, CrossFit is for you. You do not have to be in good shape to start CrossFit. In fact, many of our members come to us with little or no exercise experience, as well as health and weight issues, injuries, and other physical challenges. If you’re struggling with an injury, our owner and head coach has extensive experience in injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. We’ll help you adapt CrossFit to help you recover faster.
The great thing about CrossFit is that every movement, exercise and class can be scaled to accommodate the fitness level and ability of every person doing it. Here at CrossFit Bartlett, we emphasize proper form and technique before intensity to make sure our members stay injury-free and progress at a safe, and appropriate pace. We’ve helped all sorts of people overcome health problems, lose weight, tone up, increase endurance, strength, and flexibility, and get into the best shape of their lives. Read our success stories.
There’s no way I can do the CrossFit workouts. What if I can’t do a pull up?
Have no fear. You CAN do these workouts. We have members ages 7 to 77 doing them, and so can you. All CrossFit movements and exercises can easily be scaled to allow anyone to do and benefit from them. We also offer classes for beginners and those new to CrossFit, so you’ll be surrounded by people at the same level as you.
Can’t do a pull-up? We’ll have you doing assisted versions using bands — on your first day of training. Virtually no one is good at CrossFit when they first start. You won’t be alone in your struggles, and you will constantly surprise yourself with what you CAN do.
What if I want to be healthy, but don’t want to be an athlete?
At CrossFit Bartlett, we think of all our members as athletes — from beginners to our most advanced CrossFitters. For us, being healthy and being an athlete are synonymous. Athletes enjoy a range of health benefits including lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, healthy heart rates, lower incidences of heart conditions and disease, lower body fat, increased flexibility, better bone density, stronger immune systems, reduced cancer risk, fewer strokes, less depression — the list goes on and on.
We believe you don’t have to compete in a sport or athletic events to reap the many health benefits of being an athlete. So, while you may not think of yourself as an athlete, we can pretty much guarantee that when you join CrossFit Bartlett you’ll soon start to feel like one.
Don’t women get bulky doing CrossFit? Will I?
This is a common misperception. CrossFit women are among the world’s strongest, fittest, healthiest and most beautiful. We should know: half of our members are women. The handful of “bulky” women you might associate with CrossFit are elite competitive athletes — the best in the world — who train hours every day and adhere to a strictly clean diet to look and perform the way they do.
For the overwhelmingly vast majority of women who CrossFit, the result is a lean, toned, strong body that looks just as great in a bikini as it does it a pair of yoga pants. Plus, how many women do you know who can perform a pull-up, lift their body weight off the ground, climb a rope, and carry their 4-year old along with a heavy bag of groceries up a flight of stairs?
When can I expect to see results?
At CrossFit Bartlett, we believe results are earned, but we do guarantee our program. If you put in the work, show up consistently, listen to your coaches and set your ego aside, you’ll start seeing results after the first day of class. AND you’ll notice yourself getting stronger, faster, fitter, more skilled and more confident with every class you take.
