5-7-19... What Type of Language Are You Using?

Did you know that 62% of the words in the English language to describe emotion are negative?

Crazy us, more then half of the words we use to describe how we feel is negative.  It's now wonder that so many of us have a negative outlook on life, or worse only focus on the negative.

Im guilty of this just as much as everyone else, but we have to make a conscious effort to not fall into those patterns.  If all we focus on is the negative that is all that we will see.

That's why a gratefulness practice I so transformative.  It is literally impossible to feel sad, angry, irritated, depressed, or any other of the negative emotions you can think of when we truly have an attitude of gratefulness.

Gratefulness is easy, it doesn't to be a huge elaborate thing.  If you find yourself feeling a negative emotion find something to be grateful for.  Immediately, right then, focus on something and be grateful for it.  It's easier to say then do, but I want to really encourage to do it.  For example, focus on your breathing and be grateful and amazed at how awesome it is that your body can take oxygen out of the air, filter it in your lungs, and provide your body with oxygen it needs to survive.  Or feel the sun on your skin and be grateful it's shining.

These are just a few examples but it's powerful to be grateful.

Another great thing to do is write down 3 things you're grateful for every night.  This is extremely helpful in making life long changes in your brain towards positivity.

A grateful heart is a happy heart, so what's one thing you're grateful for today?
