Key Stone Habit revisited

You ever heard of a keystone?

“A keystone is the wedge-shaped stone piece at the apex of a masonry vault or arch, which is the final piece placed during construction and locks all the stones into position, allowing the arch to bear weight. Although a masonry arch or vault cannot be self-supporting until the keystone is placed, the keystone experiences the least stress of any of the voussoirs, due to its position at the apex.” - Wikipedia.

Swiping that idea via a concept in Charges Duhigg’s awesome book “The Power of Habit,” A Keystone HABIT, then, is just like the keystone in an arch, but instead of locking other stones into place… it “locks” other habits into place… so they become self-fulfilling and self-supporting - requiring less and less willpower.

That's really the secret to success behind any endeavor.  Figure out what that key stone habit is that will have a positive effect on every other habit.

This is the key behind our CrossFit program.  When you start paying to train with us, we provide a comprehensive experience that teaches nutrition, supplements, mobility, movement etc.  While we're teaching this, because you want to be more successful in the gym and make your investment worthwhile, you begin creating other habits that support the key stone habit.

You see will power is finite, so in order to set yourself up for success, you must work on making things a part of your daily routine and make them a habit.  If you can do this, you will be much more successful.

If there's one habit that will cascade across your entire life, it's a daily exercise routine.  You don't necessarily have to come to CrossFit everyday, but doing some sort of movement every day will set yourself up for success in many other aspects of life.

This is a keystone habit.  It's not easy, and nothing in life rarely is, but we are a product of the habits that we perform daily.

So I urge you to make daily movement a keystone habit and work on creating other habits that support that one.  You're life will be much better.
