We have worked extremely hard since reopening to make sure that we are doing our best to keep everyone as safe as possible. We care about your health and are dedicated to helping you in all facets and that includes being as safe as possible from Covid-19. I have a high risk kid at home, so we are hyper-vigilant about keeping everything clean and making our gym the safest environment possible.
That being said, it really burns me up when I see other gyms in our city not caring at all for safe practices and regulations. I have seen posts on Instagram and Facebook of local gyms with people on top of each other for class, not evidence of social distancing and it seems as they are just running business as usual pre-covid.
I know I’m not supposed to focus on other gyms, and I usually don’t but now their are discussions of closing down gyms again, and I have to think that this behavior may be some of the reasons why.
In case you were wondering here are some of things we have done to keep you our members safe…
– Implemented train in place criteria
We have rearranged the entire gym and equipment so a majority of the training can take place in your space clearly marked a minimum of 6 feet away from anyone else.
– Limited class sizes
We have a maximum of 13 people in class. This is due to the limited number of square footage required to deliver training areas appropriately socially distanced.
– Limited passing in and out of the building
In the past we have done workouts with 100 meter 200 meter and 400 meter runs. This would involve high traffic near each other in and out of the door. To help alleviate this we limit the amount of running workouts and also only run longer distances greater then 400 meters in order to space people out enough to limit exposures.
– Invested $2,000 in installing UV lights in our AC units
The research that we have read states a higher risk with heavy breathing and they have shown it stays in the air. To keep from circulating the Covid Virus around the gym, we installed the UV lights in order to limit circulation.
– Provide personal sanitation stations at each training area.
– Limited gathering places, such as water fountains, and cubbies etc.
– Implementing strict cleaning protocols
We have everyone clean each piece of equipment and the floor of their training space after each class. We also require hand sanitation upon entering the building. Lastly, we continually clean everything throughout the day to make sure we are extra clean.
These are just a few things off the top of my head that we’ve done to be safer. I want to urge you to help spread the word and support the efforts. We are doing everything within our power to keep you safe with nothing but your health in mind.
